Why a pH neutral marble cleaner matters

Marble is calcium carbonate, which means it reacts with acid. That is why vinegar, lemon juice, bathroom descalers and most supermarket sprays leave behind dull, cloudy patches known as etching. A marble cleaner has to be pH neutral so that it lifts soil without attacking the stone underneath it. NeutraSheen was formulated for exactly that job. It cleans and sanitizes without stripping the polish, so the surface keeps the same gloss, color and sheen it had before you started. How to mix and use it

Mix 2 ounces of concentrate into 1 gallon of water for general cleaning of floors and other large areas. For everyday counter and spill duty, mix a smaller batch into a quart spray bottle and keep it under the sink. Apply, wipe with a clean cloth or a damp mop, and you are finished. There is no rinse step, and nothing is left behind on the surface to attract more soil. Because one gallon of concentrate makes 64 gallons of working solution, a single bottle covers most homes for years rather than months.

Marble cleaner questions we get asked

Will it remove etch marks that are already there? No. Cleaning and etch repair are two different jobs. An etch mark is physical damage to the surface of the stone, so it needs Marble Gloss Restorer rather than a cleaner.

Can I use it on sealed marble? Yes. It is safe to use over an impregnating sealer and will not strip it.

Do I have to rinse afterwards? No. NeutraSheen is formulated to be used without rinsing, which is one of the reasons professional cleaning crews reach for it.

Is it safe on stone other than marble? Yes. It works equally well as a granite cleaner, and on limestone, travertine, ceramic and porcelain tile.
