What a marble grout kit is actually solving
People scrub grout for years before working out why it never comes back. Cement grout is porous and slightly soft, so soil does not sit on top of it – it works down into the surface and stays there. Scrubbing removes what is on the face and takes a little grout with it, which opens the surface further and makes the next round of staining worse. A marble grout kit breaks that cycle: clean it properly, restore the color, then seal it so nothing soaks in again.
Sealing is the step most people skip, and it is the step that makes the result last. Once the grout is sealed, food, water, oil and dirt stay on the surface where a damp cloth deals with them.
Why marble needs its own marble grout kit
Ordinary grout restoration chemistry is often acidic, because acid is an easy way to strip soil out of cement grout. On ceramic or porcelain that is fine. On marble, limestone or travertine it is a disaster: marble is calcium carbonate, and acid physically etches it, leaving dull, cloudy patches along every grout line that no amount of cleaning will remove.

Using the marble grout kit: what the job involves
Set aside an afternoon rather than an hour, and work in sections rather than trying to do a whole floor or shower at once.
