Granite is dense and hard, but it’s still porous enough to absorb oil, wine, and other liquids if it isn’t sealed – and even sealed granite gradually loses its shine to everyday wiping and light residue buildup. A granite care kit combines a granite-safe cleaner, a polish, and a sealer so all three parts of ongoing care come from one matched set instead of guesswork with random products.

Working through the granite care kit
Start with the cleaner to lift oil, soap film, and everyday grime. Follow with the polish, worked in with a soft cloth in small circular motions, then buffed to a shine with a clean microfiber towel. Finish with the sealer on any granite that hasn’t been sealed in the last 1-2 years – sealed granite resists absorbing spills instead of staining from them.
Keeping the results between kits
Wipe up oil and acidic spills promptly, use coasters and trivets, and stick to pH-neutral, granite-safe cleaners for daily wiping. Test whether it’s time to reseal by dripping a little water on the counter – if it stops beading up, reseal.
Granite care kit questions we get asked
Do I need the buffer version instead? Only for heavier wear, larger areas, or a first-time deep restoration – most kitchens do fine with hand application.
How often should I use the full kit? A full pass every 6-12 months keeps most kitchens looking good, with spot cleaning in between.
Will it work on marble or quartz? No – this kit is formulated specifically for granite’s pore structure and sealing needs.
