What Grout Guard Protector is protecting against

Grout is porous cement, and porous cement absorbs whatever touches it – soap scum, coffee, moisture, and mildew-causing dampness. Grout Guard Protector penetrates into that porous surface and cures there, so future spills and moisture sit on top instead of soaking in and darkening the grout over time.

Choosing your size

The 8 oz bottle suits a single bathroom or a kitchen backsplash. The 16 oz covers a full kitchen floor and backsplash, or several bathrooms. The 40 oz is the size for multiple bathrooms, a full kitchen and mudroom, or professional jobs – and gives the most coverage per dollar.

Applying Grout Guard Protector

Clean the grout thoroughly first and let it dry completely – sealer applied over trapped moisture or soap residue won’t bond properly. Apply with a small brush or dedicated grout applicator, following the lines rather than dabbing, and wipe excess off the tile surface before it dries. On a large job, work in sections so the sealer doesn’t dry on the applicator between passes.

Keeping grout sealed

Once sealed, stick to pH-neutral cleaners on tile and grout – harsh acidic cleaners break down a seal faster than normal wear. Test whether it’s time to reseal by watching how water behaves on the grout; if it stops beading, it’s time to reapply.
