Marble Gloss Restorer SF in the 4 ounce size – the special formula marble polish for the four marble species that will not take a gloss with standard chemistry.

Marble Gloss Restorer SF (special formula) is a marble polishing and restoration product that will bring back that brand new look to vanity tops, counter tops, bar tops, table tops, floors, walls, showers, and other marble surfaces.

Product Facts

Now you can polish and restore your marble like a Pro.

The finest 5-star hotels and professional marble cleaning companies use Marble Gloss Restorer SF to polish and restore marble, limestone, and travertine.

When polishing the following marble types:

  • pure white (Thassos)
  • dark brown (Breccia Nouvella)
  • dark green (Verde Antique)
  • absolute black – contains no veining, especially no white veining (Belgium Black)

The mineral makeup of these marbles require a different chemistry to produce a high gloss finish, which is found in our Marble Gloss Restorer SF.

Marble Gloss Restorer SF is a proprietary blend of marble polishing powders and compounds which will renew the look of your marble surfaces.

Watch those food and beverage stains, water spots, dull and worn traffic areas, disappear; while the true color and brilliance of the stone is regenerated.

Marble Gloss Restorer SF is quick and easy to use, in bringing back the original color and shine on vanity tops, counter tops, bar tops, table tops, floors, walls, and showers. Not to be used on granite; use our Granite Polish and Protector on granite instead.

DIRECTIONS: Depending on application (e.g. floor buffer or hand-held buffing machine,) when polishing marble with our Marble Gloss Restorer SF, you first make a slurry by mixing the marble restorer compound with water. Distribute the slurry over the area of marble to be polished and place buffer with our Ultimate Polishing Pad over slurry and work in a side to side motion between 200 and 2000 RPM for a few minutes.

During the marble restoration process, it is normal for the slurry to dry quickly and you will notice a grabbing sensation from the machine which is caused by the friction created from using the Marble Gloss Restorer SF; do not add more water, polish this area dry for another minute or two; then, repeat this identical polishing process by adding more Marble Gloss Restorer SF mixed with water and polish the same area of marble one or two more times, before you start polishing your next section of marble.

Be sure to use our Marble Polish and Protector, to enhance and protect the natural beauty of the stone, after using Marble Gloss Restorer SF. Also be sure to check out our original marble restorer product,Marble Gloss Restorer.

Economical to use, 4 ounces of Marble Gloss Restorer SF will polish up to 40 square feet of marble.

What a marble gloss restorer sf is actually repairing

A dull patch on polished marble is almost never dirt. Marble is calcium carbonate, and anything acidic – wine, citrus, cola, tomato, vinegar, even some household cleaners – physically eats a microscopically rough crater into the polished surface. Light scatters off that roughness instead of reflecting, and you see a cloudy ring. Nothing is sitting on top, which is why scrubbing achieves nothing and why people spend years buying cleaners that were never going to help. The Natural Stone Institute describes the same mechanism in its consumer stone care guidance.

A marble gloss restorer sf works mechanically instead. Buffed as a slurry under a polishing pad, it re-flattens the damaged layer until the surface reflects evenly again. Because you have re-polished the stone rather than coated it, the result lasts until something etches it afresh.

Why the SF special formula exists

Four marble species will not take a high gloss with standard chemistry: pure white (Thassos), dark brown (Breccia Nouvella), dark green (Verde Antique) and absolute black (Belgium Black). The mineral makeup of those stones needs a different approach, and that is what the SF formula provides.

This matters because using the standard product on one of those four is the most common reason someone concludes that marble polishing does not work. If your stone is one of them, a marble gloss restorer sf is the product you need. If it is not, our standard Marble Gloss Restorer will do the job and costs less.

Is the 4 ounce size enough?

The 4 ounce jar is the trial size. It suits a single vanity top, a table or a small cluster of etch marks, and it is the sensible way to test the process on an inconspicuous corner before committing to a larger jar. For a full kitchen, a shower or any part of a floor, buy the 8 ounce size so you have enough material to go round twice.

Getting a good result

Clean and dry the surface first, so you are polishing stone rather than grinding grit into it. Mix the compound with a little water to a slurry, keep it wet the whole way through, and work in a steady side to side motion. A slurry that dries out stops cutting and starts smearing, which is the usual cause of an uneven pass. Rinse thoroughly with clean water afterwards.

Expect badly etched areas to need a second round – that is normal, not a sign anything is wrong. Finish with Marble Polish and Protector so the restored shine has some resistance to the next spill, and clean routinely with NeutraSheen for Marble rather than a general purpose spray.

Marble gloss restorer sf questions we get asked

Do I need a machine? A rotary buffer is fastest, but customers regularly report good results by hand with a hog’s hair pad and some patience.

How do I know if my marble needs SF? If it is pure white, dark brown, dark green or absolute black, it does. Most other polished marble does not.

Will it work on granite? No. Granite needs different chemistry – use our Granite Polish and Protector.

How long does the result last? It is a genuine re-polish rather than a coating, so it lasts until the surface is etched again.

    Hi Paul,
My granite looks beautiful again by the faucet area after treating it with the marble glass restorer sf and buffing it just a few seconds with the buffering machine using the 1500 grit paper you sent. I applied granite sealer and will be certain to reapply sealer every April so this issue doesn’t reoccur. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and kindness as well for your excellent products. I’ve been a happy customer of yours since 2008. Best Regards, Jonathan Krauss

I just wanted to let you know that the Marble Gloss Restorer SF product that I received this week worked wonderfully! I only needed to apply a small amount and to buff by hand. I then followed up with the Marble Polish and Protector product that I purchased originally. We can no longer see the etch marks that the bottle of cleaning solution left when it was accidently set down on our new marble counter. We also learned a lesson not to bring such harsh products into our bathroom!

    Thank you!
