Wider grout lines on a larger floor can take a bigger brush head, which covers more of the line per stroke and shortens the overall job. Either way, the bristle stiffness is what actually does the work of breaking loose packed-in grime – a softer brush will simply glide over the same buildup a grout scrub brush cuts through.

If you’re tackling both a bathroom and a kitchen in the same cleaning session, it’s worth rinsing the brush thoroughly between rooms, especially if one area had heavier grease buildup than the other.
