What a grout guard restorer 8 oz is actually doing
Grout is porous cement, and porous cement absorbs whatever touches it – soap scum, coffee, mildew stains, and plain water. Once grout darkens or grays, ordinary cleaning can’t reverse it because the discoloration is inside the material, not on top of it. A grout guard restorer 8 oz works two ways at once: it deposits color back into the grout line to restore a uniform look, and it seals the surface so the next spill sits on top instead of soaking in.

Applying the grout guard restorer 8 oz
Clean the grout thoroughly first and let it dry completely – restorer applied over trapped moisture or soap residue won’t bond properly. Apply with a small brush or applicator along the grout lines, following the lines rather than dabbing, and wipe excess off the tile surface before it dries. Allow the recommended cure time before the area gets wet again.
Keeping grout looking restored
Once sealed, stick to pH-neutral cleaners on tile and grout – harsh acidic cleaners will break down the seal faster than normal wear. Wipe up standing water in showers when you can, since grout that stays wet longer stays vulnerable longer even when sealed.

Do I need to clean the grout first? Yes – restorer seals in whatever is already in the grout, so cleaning first is what makes the color come out even.

When we remodeled our kitchen we used tile on our counter tops but never really thought to use a dark color grout. The off white that we used has become terribly stained in certain areas. my wife complains all the time about our dirty kitchen floor; the floor is 7 years old, the tile is clean but the grout around the fridge and stove is really dirty. tried a lot of grout cleaners, none have done the job; until I used this grout restorer product, I mixed in a little of something called grease and grime buster and with a little bit of scrubbing with a brush; the grout became brand new again.
